Dissolving Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are a soft injectable gel consisting of hyaluronic acid.

Dermal fillers can be used to smooth away facial lines and wrinkles, create fuller lips and shape facial contours, such as cheeks and chin, and revitalise the skin.

Dermal fillers are an injectable treatment which is temporary, but can sometimes cause lumping, distortion or a vascular occlusion.

Treatments are elective or emergency.

Hyaluronidase is the drug used to dissolve dermal fillers.

It is an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid, which has long been used to increase the absorption of drugs into tissue and to reduce tissue damage in cases of extravasation of a drug.

Patch testing is required 48 hours prior to appointment.

ASPIRIN, IBUPROFEN and ALCOHOL 48 Hours PRE and POST treatment should be avoided.
