PRP Platelet Rich Plasma/ Phlebotomy

A Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) face treatment, also known as a Vampire facial, is an advanced skin treatment which is great for skin rejuvenation. It's a treatment which uses your own blood platelets to stimulate new cell growth, helping to improve your complexion and skin texture.

What exactly is PRP?

We all have platelets in our blood. PRP is 3-step procedure that involves having your blood:

  1. Drawn from your arm

  2. Placed into a machine that separates the platelets from the rest of your blood

  3. Re-injected into you (only the part of your blood that contains a high concentration of platelets) using microneedling. (This can be in any area of skin or hair)

The entire procedure takes one hour.

The potential benefits of PRP have led to widespread interest in its use for anti-aging and regenerative purposes. The healing properties of the blood components in PRP can be used as a cosmetic treatment for the following:

  •         Reducing fine lines and wrinkles

  •         Tightening and toning skin

  •         Mild collagen and volume loss

  •         Crow’s feet and dark under eye circles

  •         Acne scarring

  •         Rosacea

  •         Stimulates new cell growth

  •         Stimulates hair growth

  •         Improves skin tone and texture

  •         Improves skin complexion

  •         Helps with first signs of ageing

  •         Improves skin complexion

PRP therapy is predominantly used on the face, particularly around the eyes, mouth and nose although it may be used on the backs of the hands and all over the body, to give a more youthful and radiant appearance.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is also a proven hair loss treatment that can regenerate and promote hair growth for men and women by using your own plasma and growth factors to target areas of hair loss. Hair follicles survive on the nutrition they get from the blood supply. PRP works by introducing platelets so by administering PRP in the area of damaged hair follicles healthy hair growth will be promoted.
